The 14th Amendment also has a lot of protections for the government fighting against rebellions and uprisings. I think this 14th Amendment talk is a multi-layered issue. In the time of Teabagging and "Don't Tread on Me -- Tread on Someone Else", I think the stripping of the 14th Amendment is also a dangerous suggestion of a rebellion that they want to perpetrate by stripping the Constitution of the government's protections AS WELL as the obvious racism.
