What happened at Fox News and CNN?!
In what appears to be a case of premature ejaculation on the part of the networks for the intense need to come out with the Supreme Court decision on the Affordable Care Act first, they both got it wrong.
Now, while I understand the need to put out information as they get it, maybe they could get past the first page of a 50+ page ruling before jumping to conclusions. They were so intent on putting out the news that the individual mandate was not necessarily covered under the Commerce Clause, it is permissible as a tax, and in their haste, they assumed the mandate was struck down and got the story completely wrong. In the case of Fox News, I'm sure it was also a bit of wishful thinking on their part.
As for CNN, they have apologized for the mishap. No so at Fox.
Fox issued a combative statement in which the network claimed they "gave our viewers the news as it happened," and went on to say that CNN's reporting had been worse. CNN issued a statement hours earlier that included a full-throated apology for their misstep.
It's the holiday season, so that must mean it's time for Fox News to cry about the fictional War on Christmas. Jon Stewart brilliantly deconstructs.
Everyone jumped on the bandwagon including Andrew “ACORN, Shirley Sherrod, Planned Parenthood” Breitbart, and hacky tweets from Dana Loesch demanded that President Obama condemn Hoffa’s remarks and “sanctioning violence against fellow Americans” if he doesn’t. This after the fact that it was Fox’s Ed Henry who initially reported correctly on their own network that Hoffa as referring to voting Republicans out, and is on record with his tweet just 20 minutes after his report. Why tweet? Because he KNEW it was going to be taken out of context....fuller context included in other Fox segments makes clear that Hoffa wasn't calling for violence but was actually urging the crowd to vote out Republican members of Congress. During the segment that the bloggers have latched onto, Fox edited out the bolded portion of Hoffa's comments:HOFFA: Everybody here's got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!
Fox News has put a bullseye on the back of Jon Stewart, ever since he exposed the FNC hackery in the Chris Wallace interview, by calling Stewart racist for making fun on Herman Cain's idea of not having bills larger than three pages long... you know, so they're... readable? Yes. Racist. The same company that hosts Eric Bolling on a daily basis is calling Stewart racist. So Stewart did what any comedian with a brain would do. He "mocked" himself while proving the point that he goes after everyone, not just black pizza franchise owners running for president who think reading 2,700 pages is too hard.

It would just be easier for everyone involved to admit that Fox Business News' Eric Bolling is a racist. If it looks like a piece of shit racist, and it talks like a piece of shit racist, and it smells like a piece of shit racist...
When he used the term "chugging 40s" to describe President Obama having a Guinness on his trip to Ireland, he denied it was a racist thing to say, even though we knew better. And now he's using phrases like "hoodlums in the hizzouse" and "So what's with all the hoods in the hizzy?" Oh my! Fox Business News' Grand Cyclops Eric Bolling could barely tolerate one black man in the White House, but allowing another one in for a meeting?! That's outrageous!During the opening of Fox Business' Follow the Money on Friday, Eric Bolling teased a segment about the White House hosting the president of Gabon by saying, "Guess who's coming to dinner? A dictator. Mr. Obama shares a laugh with one of Africa's kleptocrats. It's not first time he's had a hoodlum in the hizzouse."
There isn't much to add here because it's completely covered by Jon Stewart and his writing staff at The Daily Show. They are geniuses.
This is truly amazing. With all the Donald Trump birther nonsense, I've not heard anyone in the mainstream media make bones about this area of the Trump Doctrine: "Take the oil."
That's it. Libya? Take the oil. Iraq? Take the oil. So simple, even a six-year old can figure it out. Invade a new sandbox and steal the kid's pail and shovel. Invade another country and take over their oil fields. Just like that. GENIUS!
If you can't stomach the 15 minute interview (but I suggest you try), here's another quote that can't be ignored: "I have great respect for Fox, I think they do a great job." Well no wonder Trump has not only boarded the crazy train but has become its conductor. He gets his news from Fox! Watching Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity is bound to eat at your brain cells like crystal meth.
For those who haven't heard, Glenn Beck is done on Fox. I can't wait for the bowling pin scene!

Just a quick post to say that Robert Reich and smart Democrats like this can kiss my fat (although, getting skinnier) ass.
Tonight on Hardball, Reich moaned pathetic about Obama being in South America instead of at home creating jobs.
A) I would expect an economics expert to understand the significance of Obama's trip to our economy and job creation.
B) It's not a Spring Break as Fox News wants viewers to believe (oh, I get it, Reich is a Fox watcher).
C) Does Reich realize Reich is doing his very own job (giving astute analysis) via ... wait for it ... satellite? Yep, a job can be done from a different place than the magic place. Jobs are not created from one chair, behind one desk, in one oval-shaped room, in one house painted white, on some street named after a state, in some country with 50 states and a shitload of towns and cities.
C.2) Does Reich think Obama needs to be in Texas to create jobs in Texas? In Oregon to create jobs in Oregon?
D) Reich titled one of his books, "I'll Be Short". Well, I think Reich is being short-minded and short on rational thought or integrity. I lean toward the latter. I think Reich SHOULD know better and chooses to add to the value-less, pathetic and unproductive crap that is a waste of valuable air time. Hey, Reich, use your on-air opportunity this way: Ask not what your President can do for you. Ask what you can do for your President. For starters, you can stop acting like a right-wing wanker and start applying some of the logic I am sure you must possess and talk about things that are relevant and not petty.
By the way, I took my copy of "I'll Be Short" back to the used book store where I bought it from the clearance section. The font was big, the spacing was large and I didn't get a thing out of it. Perhaps I am giving Reich too much credit.
In other words, and I'll be short, "Grow up, Reich".
...and it was only a matter of days before Gingrich decided to switch policy positions for the sole purpose of criticizing President Obama on Libya... whatever the stance happened to be at the time, consistency be damned.

Et tu, Evan?Bayh will be a commentator and political analyst across all of Fox News’ platforms. He was a Senator from 1999 to 2011, where he became one of the more prominent conservative Democrats in the chamber.
This is why right wing pundits and Fox News models are completely unserious when it comes to matters of discussing political policy. Here's Fox News' Megyn Kelly and Monica Crowley discussing the decision of the Obama administration to stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act it deems to be unconstitutional.
Now, you may agree or disagree with the decision as is your right. But is it necessary to call the President of the United States "Mubarak Obama"? Really? Is that being a serious journalist, if that's how you define yourself? And Crowley then chose to go the route of, "Well, if Bush did this..." Remind me again how the right was all up in arms when the Bush administration gave the thumbs up on waterboarding and other torture tactics in direct violation of countless treaties and military codes of conduct. A nation of laws indeed, Monica.
In the blogosphere, Andrew Sullivan points out that Matt Drudge decided to go with this lovely headline in the midst of the protests in Libya:

There is obviously nothing that the neoconservative right wing will allow to go unchallenged when it comes to anything related to President Obama.
The latest faux-rage comes at the expense of the President's comments regarding Michael Vick. Comments that, by the way, were made in a private conversation to Eagles owner Jeff Lurie in a phone call to initially praise him for using alternative energy sources to power his stadium. During the call, Obama also commended the Eagles owner for giving Michael Vick a second chance.
Lurie relayed the conversation to a Sports Illustrated reporter who ran with it. And here is where the hair-on-fire reaction begins. Animal activists naturally were aghast that the President would think to say such an insensitive thing as to giving a human being a second chance after serving time for his crime. That's what the correctional institution in the US is all about right? Rehabilitation? Fox New's Megyn Kelly compared animal cruelty to rape. Yes, rape. But self-proclaimed Christian and former bow tie addict Tucker Carlson really showed how he follows his faith by not only criticizing Obama for the private comments, but stating that Vick should have been executed for his actions.“He said, ‘So many people who serve time never get a fair second chance.’ He said, ‘It’s never a level playing field for prisoners when they get out of jail.’ And he was happy that we did something on such a national stage that showed our faith in giving someone a second chance after such a major downfall.”
So, holier than thou Tucker Carlson, who admits to making mistakes and "fervently believes in second chances" is looking into his so called Christian heart not for forgiveness, but for vengeance. Must be an Old Testament type of guy. I wonder what type of vengeance should be cast uopon a person who maliciously wrote emails in someone else's name in an attempt to get that person in trouble? Isn't falsifying your identity through email a crime? Maybe that's a crime punishable by execution. Maybe Carlson should have been sentenced to hang by the bow tie until he was dead."I'm a Christian, I've made mistakes myself, I believe fervently in second chances," Carlson said. "But Michael Vick killed dogs, and he did in a heartless and cruel way. And I think, personally, he should've been executed for that. He wasn't, but the idea that the President of the United States would be getting behind someone who murdered dogs? Kind of beyond the pale."
