John McCain, Go F*ck Yourself

It's too bad he's not following his friend, Holy Joe out the door.

UN Ambassador Susan Rice has withdrawn her name from consideration as a nominee to replace Hillary Clinton as the next Secretary of State, after a constant barrage of criticism leveed at her from Republicans following her intelligence community sanctioned statements on the Sunday talk shows a few weeks back, with Senate curmudgeon John McCain leading the charge.
“If nominated, I am now convinced that the confirmation process would be lengthy, disruptive and costly - to you and to our most pressing national and international priorities,” she wrote in a letter to Obama that was released to the public on Thursday afternoon.

...Rice said in November that she “relied solely and squarely on the information provided to me by the intelligence community” in delivering her assessment. Intelligence officials said that they approved her talking points, having decided ties to organized terrorism, and specifically al Qaeda, were still unclear at that point just five days removed from the attack.
The knives were out from the very beginning, and McCain certainly knows this as I'm sure he got the same intelligence reports that Rice used to make her comments. But it wasn't very long ago when John McCain defended another Rice, Condoleezza, in her nomination for the same position after "mushroom clouding" us into a war. But that Rice was a Republican, wasn't she...

Fuck you, John McCain. You can't retire fast enough.

Warren Christopher Dies at 85

CNN: Former Secretary of State Warren Christopher died Friday from complications of kidney and bladder cancer, his family said. He was 85.
As America's chief diplomat for four years during President Bill Clinton's administration, Christopher "eschewed confrontation in favor of negotiation with friend and foe alike," according to a profile posted on the State Department website.

Secretary of State Clinton

Hillary Clinton was confirmed by a vote of 16-1. The one nay vote, Senator David "Diaper Man" Vitter(R-LA). And he voted by proxy. He didn't even have the balls to show up. Maybe he was getting his taint Handi-Wiped by a hooker.

Too Much Hillary

It's been a week since it was leaked that the Obama transition team was looking at Hillary Clinton to be Secretary of State. It's been the Hillary and Bill Show ever since. Bill will drag her down. Doe she want the job? Maybe she wants to be the next "Ted Kennedy" of the Senate. Hillary is torn on making a decision. Bill will do whatever it takes in the vetting process for Hillary. Blah, blah, fucking blah!

Proof positive that at least for the media, Hillary Clinton serves as more of a distraction than anything else. MSNBC even took Tucker Carlson out of mothballs to weigh in on the issue just now. Tucker Carlson! Didn't he have his show cancelled for a reason? If I didn't care what Carlson had to say when he had an hour each weekday, why would I care what he has to say now? But that's the thing. EVERYONE on the MSNBC payroll has beaten this whole Clinton/Sectretary if State thing to the point that they have to bring in Tucker Carlson to add his two cents. That's the equivalent of jumping the shark.

There is no news until Clinton makes a decision. Move on.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton?

Andrea Mitchell:

Two Obama advisers have told NBC News that Hillary Clinton is under consideration to be secretary of state. Would she be interested? Those who know Clinton say possibly. But her office says that any decisions about the transition are up to the president-elect and his team.
Armadillo Joe and I was tossing names around a few months ago (including John Edwards for Attorney General before the whole affair thing) and he said that Hillary would be good for Secretary of State. I agree with him. Does she want it? Who knows. I'm also not crazy about another open Senate seat should this situation come to pass.

Apparently John Kerry and Bill Richardson are very interested in the job.

What do you think?
