Ted Kennedy Dies at 77


NY TIMES: Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts, a son of one of the most storied families in American politics, a man who knew triumph and tragedy in near-equal measure and who will be remembered as one of the most effective lawmakers in the history of the Senate, died late Tuesday night. He was 77.

A very sad day. I truly wish Kennedy could have lived to see health care reform become a reality.

Teddy will always be remembered for Chappaquidic.Yes his reckless driving and immediate failure to notify the authorities was responsible for the death of a young woman but if you look at all of his legislative accomplishments from civil and voting rights to quadrupling cancer research to aids funding to taking the lead in anti aparthied to children's health insurance to broader funding for higher education,he saved a hell of a lot of lives too.
