Korey Rowe Released - Michael Moore Subpoenaed

Filmmaker Michael Moore revealed on Thursday's "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno that the Bush Administration had served him with a subpoena regarding his recent trip to Cuba made as part of his new film, Sicko.

...Moore declared that the subpoena was unwarranted, saying, "this was a work of journalism."
"I was there to help them and now I’m going to face this further harassment from the Bush people," Moore said, according to a transcript. “Aren’t they busy with something else?"

As for Korey Rowe's arrest, the producer of "Loose Change" confirms through mobile phone video that he has now been released after his arrest ...which Rowe and many others believe was politically motivated. Rowe provided the Oneonta, NY police with his discharge papers which apparently weren't good enough. He was then sent to his former Kentucky base and immediately released after showing the same papers.

It's clear to see that both situations are politically motivated. Moore's "Sicko" is opening the eyes of many to the state of health care in the US, and Rowe's updated version of "Loose Change" is soon to be released. I'll be waiting for FAUX News to try to discredit Rowe in the upcoming weeks as a deserter. Look for Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly to flaunt headlines in the news showing Rowe's arrest with absolutely no regard for a followup story on his release.

Korey Rowe Arrested For Desertion

Iraq and Afghanistan veteran Korey Rowe has been arrested and handed over to military officials without bail for allegedly "deserting the Army".

New York Daily Star:

The Associated Press reported last month that deserters are rarely court-martialed by the Army. Although 3,301 soldiers deserted in the 2006 fiscal year, there were just 174 troops court-martialed. The AP report said some deserters are returned to their units, while others are discharged in non-criminal proceedings.

According to MSNBC, "Despite a rise in desertions from the Army as the Iraq war drags on into a fifth year, the U.S. military does almost nothing to find those who flee and rarely prosecutes those it gets its hands on."

Korey Rowe enlisted in the Army in August of 2001 and left in June of 2005. How can he be arrested for desertion? When so many deserters are virtually ignored, what makes Rowe an exception to the rule? Call it a hunch, but I'm guessing it has something to do with his movie making career.

Korey Rowe is one of the producers of "Loose Change", a film claiming to present evidence that September 11th was an inside job, and to prove that elements within the United States government planned and orchestrated it. An updated version of that film is supposed to be released just before the 6th anniversary of 9/11.
