Obviously this douchebag doesn't even understand the premise of President Obama's foreclosure rescue plan let alone understand that sometimes you have to help your fellow man in order to save the yourself instead of constantly looking at the bottom line. I don't expect this asshole to make an apology when the economy turns around, just take credit for manipulating the markets with their bullshit reports when they start bouncing back. God bless Wall Street, right Rick?
Douchebag of the Week: CNBC's Rick Santelli
Adding... from commenter "steve" at the GDAB:
This really encapsulates the Republican attitudes that got the country into the mess it's in. If people lose their houses, if they lose their jobs and can't get health insurance, if they can't feed or shelter their families, it's because they're stupid losers and they don't deserve those things. But if a bank is failing because of horrible management, throw money at it because "they're too big to fail." How fucking illogical is that?!

It's people like this asshat that got us in this mess in the first damn place.
I'd like to nominate a Runner-Up Douchebag: the always-reliable Rush Limbaugh, who today compared Democrats to murderers and rapists:

(I know, this is lame -- I don't know how to embed a link in the comments!)
Yes Annette, it was people like Rick Santelli, who have been saying for years we have a problem, that got us into this mess. Why on earth would one ever conclude that government subsidized institutions like Fannie and Freddie would have anything to do with this problem. Obviously it was a collective of men like Rick Santelli. DAMN YOU RICK! DAMN YOU!
The only thing that makes me happy in all of this is the knowledge that nothing Obama is doing will work, so this attempted avoidance at the taking of medicine by one and all will fail. I like that. Think of all the yard sales people will be having! I wonder if I'll be able to grab a jetski at one of those, or a 60" plasma...that'd be nice.
Your right Jim!We should've elected the man Santelli voted for John Mccain!A man who admitted he didn't know anything about the economy but kept saying the economy was strong until the roof fell in.I have much more faith in a well educated president than a man whose economic adviser Phil Gramm-who lead the charge when he was head of the senate banking commitee the deregulation that got us in this mess to begin with. Santelli told Chris Matthews a better idea would have been to send EVERYONE a check.I guess he just doesn't understand its not just bad mortgages, its people who have been hit the most hard in this economy.its layoffs, unemployment, heating bills etc.The idea is to help get these people a better mortgage not buy the house for them. This way they get to keep their houses and the bank doesnt get stuck with a forecloser. It helps EVERYBODY!
Thanks Jim, for proving once again that people like you who agree with Santelli haven't the slightest clue what the forclosure plan is. Maybe you should do a little research before making an ass out of yourself. Here, I'll help you:

White House Executive Summary
Read it. Try to understand it if your braincells haven't been irreversably burned by the right wing radio talk that pollutes your mind. Then come back and argue your backwards logic again so I can shove a 60" plasma up your ass.
This should be required viewing as to the ASS***** on Wall St and CNBC cheerleaders
