So much has happened in the last month, I didn't even realize that two jazz greats had passed away until I watched part of the Grammy Awards last night. Trumpeter Freddie Hubbard died a couple of days before the new year at 70 of a heart attack and saxophone/flutist David "Fathead" Newman just passed away at 75 due to complications from pancreatic cancer on January 20th.
No wonder I didn't hear. It was all Obama all day on the 20th. Still, negligence on my part is on an excuse. So here are a couple of videos to commemorate their contribution to the music world.
