UPDATE (6/18/09): Since posting this on Sunday, Ed Schultz has had a run-in with Joe Scarborough regarding this issue. Schultz agrees with the assessment. Scarborough is shocked, shocked I tell you!, that anyone would think Cheney would want "Americans to die" (Scarborough's words, not Panetta's) so he could say he was right.

This seems to be a consensus from several people who know the former VP, that he is almost hoping for another attack so he can say, "see I told you we kept you safe".
But, I think he has several others helping his cause, like most of the republican party.
I just posted this to FB. Of course he wants another attack to be vindicated. Unfortunately, he may get his wish. It took 7 years to plan and institute 9/11. And osama doesn't like that the President is taking all of his recruitment tools away. I am hoping it doesn't happen, that we have been able to take some of their distribution (money) lines out. I just see another attack more than likely. Then God help us all.
