NY Times: In pronouncing the sentence — the maximum he could have handed down — Judge Denny Chin turned aside Mr. Madoff’s own assertions of remorse and rejected the suggestion from Mr. Madoff’s lawyers that there was a sense of “mob vengeance” surrounding calls for a long prison term.
“Objectively speaking, the fraud here was staggering,” the judge said. “It spanned more than 20 years.”

I'm against torture but,in Bernie's case I'd probably make anexception considering how many lives he has ruined.
You can't tell me though,his sons didn't know what was going on.That would make them less curious than Bush.Come on ,all those years of fabulous returns on those investments and neither one of them said "say pop tell us your investments secrets in case one day you croak so we could keep the family business going.
