This Is Madness

When even Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan (PAT BUCHANAN!) gang up on Newt Gingrich, you know there's a problem.

Most Americans agree with them. Did you ever wonder why you are in the fringe minrity?

What's a minrity?

@Chris, Most Americans spend more time watching The Bachelor than reading the paper. Polling doesn't say much about an issue but says a hell of a lot about those being polled. Most polls don't measure knowledge on an issue, just retention of talking-point based emotions.

That being said, the same polls show that whether or not people WANT the community center built NEAR Ground Zero, an overwhelming majority do know they have the right to build it. Considering Americans learned about Constitutional rights in elementary school, I'd say that on that point, the people polled DO know what they're talking about. Whereas the opinion of the community center is based on false premises and fear-mongering so they don't know what they're talking about on that.

Soooo.... the fringe minority is actually either xenophobic idiots OR intelligent humanists. If the latter is the fringe, then that is a fringe I am more than happy to be a part of. However, I am pretty sure the fringe minority is the former -- the xenophobic, mindless, knee-jerk reactionaries.

Sincerely,
Jennifer
