S#*! Sarah Palin Says (Reading Comprehension Edition)

This one is an instant classic.

Tea Party mama grizzly Sarah Palin had an issue with Secretary of State spokesman PJ Crowley's tweets today.

Apparently, the Tea Party darling has absolutely no idea of the definition of sarcasm, as the Thrilla from Wasilla was responding to this:

Crowley posted two short messages directed at the Iranian president, who turned 54 this week.
"Happy birthday President Ahmadinejad," the first tweet reads. "Celebrate by sending Josh Fattal and Shane Bauer home. What a gift that would be."
The second tweets reads: "Your 54th year was full of lost opportunities. Hope in your 55th year you will open Iran to a different relationship with the world."
Anyone with half a brain would understand that the opening salvo of the "birthday message" was a set up to nail the point home that Iran and Ahmadinejad should release the American hikers arrested near the border in 2009 and charged with espionage. But Sarah just doesn't get it. She thinks the Obama administration was basically sending him a birthday card.  What a bonehead.

ADDING... If you check out blogs and comments on this story, it's amazing to me how many people are defending her and think that the Crowley tweets are actual messages to Ahmadinejad and this is how we're conducting foreign policy.  I fear for the collective intelligence of our country.

I'm part of the camp that thinks she didn't make a mistake. I don't think she really thinks the administration wished him a happy BDay. I think she knows damn well what the intention was but purposely mislead her flock who would never go to the original Tweet or understand it.

As stupid as I think she is, I readily admit she is smart in the cunning aspect. And I find that more frightening than her being stupid.

Now, as for her followers, you are absolutely right -- they send our collective intelligence into the negative.

Well I didn't think of that, but if that's the case, then she's just fucking evil and playing her sheeple like a violin. And they're sitting there gobbling it up. Very sad.

She IS evil. But wait, do I sound like those people who call Obama the anti-Christ? I don't want to sound like them... BUT she IS evil.

Ahhh at last we know what separates the Right from the Left. A litmus test that can be applied at a young age....

Do they understand Satire and Sarcasm.

These are they same people who told Jon Stewart he needed to keep it fair and balanced....uhm he is not actually a news program!!

Oh yah and they think that Fox News is actually news...so there you have it....

Sarah is very manipulative. Plus she uses satire and sarcasm all the time; they are her stock and trade. So,yep, I think she knew what the message meant & how to manipulate it.

I think she is similar to the C Street gang (aka the family) in that they and she believe they cannot be judged by mere mortals or held to same standards. They are God's chosen so they aren't expected to adhere to the same moral guidelines as the rest of us. so-called Jesus politics)The analogy to Kings Solomon & David is apt here. They sinned but were still allowed by God to be powerful rulers.

I've never heard of SP espousing this philosophy, but it seems that at some place in her dark little heart, this is her belief.

I don't believe she is evil anymore than any other severely dysfunctional person is; however, her kind of dysfunction is really no different than an alcoholic's or addict's. She sees herself as the center of the universe and every event and/or person is connected to her or revolves around her. I do think she does evil things because is always trying to manipulate her universe.

For example, her obsession with Obama probably plays out like this--she thinks every decision or statement he makes is rooted in *his* need to one up her or irritate her or whatever, but in reality, Obama doesn't even give her a second thought.

I think too Desert Crone that not only Sarah but the entire crop of the GOP leadership think they have been able to swindle the American people for 30 years. They have made up these narratives and they believe them. They project everything they have done, will do or would do onto the Dems. And since the 'news' has been a for profit enterprise for some time, we don't get the news. We get infotainment because entertainment sells. It is sickening that they have been 'winning' the narrative for so long. I blame the cynicism of John McCain. It started with Reagan and McGrumpypants thought he deserved to be President and was cynical enough to think women would vote for him because of Sarah. And it's sad that we have kicked all of our cans, and added new ones, down the road and hit a dead end. Now, no one wants to do what needs to be done for that American Exceptionalism they love.
