... from the Obama camp. The Rude One makes a great point in his post yesterday about McCain's heinous "sex" ad and that it's time to pull the ol' switcharoo on McCain. ... dear Obama campaign, you have to use the word "lie." You wanna make an ad about the Bridge to Nowhere? Call McCain and Palin's assertions "lies." People don't give a fuck about "exaggerations" or "misleading statements." That's lawyer talk.
... You want the best route? Here it is: emasculate John McCain. Use Palin to cut his nuts off. Constantly say shit like, "Am I running against John McCain or Sarah Palin?" or "If the Republicans wanted her to be president, they should have nominated her" or "Maybe Republicans are used to a vice president that runs the show" or whatever. Make McCain have to defend himself. Turn him into Palin's bitch. It'll make him insane. And if there's one thing that Republicans hate most about women, it's the perception of the castrating bitch telling men what to do (see all the shit about Hillary Clinton).
I'm all for it. How about you?

Excellent suggestion for new talking points, to which I would add: "Let's not forget Palin wasn't even McCain's first choice for VP. His Republican party handlers overruled him on his first choice. If McCain doesn't even have the guts to stand up to the Republican party, how will he stand up to America's enemies? John McCain is no longer his own man."
Ouch! Sharpening our nails, Fraulein? I completely agree.
Fantastic Carl. I like your distillation better than the original, actually.
Maybe we can get something going here and land a few punches of our own soon.
Damn right -- I wish Obama and Biden would start bringing out the long knives too! (Actually I wish they would bring a nuclear bomb to this knife fight!)
You know what else Obama (and/or Biden and/or Hillary and whoever else is on offense duty) should talk about? How freaking OLD and out of it McCain looks. Not statesmanlike old -- confused old. Beginnings-of-Alzheimers-old. On Americablog there's a post up now theorizing that they're keeping McCain out of the media spotlight now because he's starting to sound more confused than ever, even for him. The Obama people should hammer this home at every opportunity.
While the age thing is a concern and tempting, I prefer the judgment thing. It might come back to bite the Obama camp if they were accused of playing the age card and alienate the older voters that historically come out more reliably than younger voters.
By the way, like the graphic? I added it as an afterthought.
it worries me how you got a rendering of me as a child, but otherwise I love the graphic! I'd like to buy a bottle of this to leave by the office coffee machine.
LFOD08 - I spoke with your mom and she happily sent me the picture. How do I know who your mom is?... I've got friends at the telecom companies. Shhh...
Ha! I love it. Very nice. I wish I could do stuff like this on my blog. I am sadly lacking in the technical skillz however.
Meanwhile this morning I'm waiting to see if Obama's going to respond to that McCain "sex ed in kindergarten" ad. If they can't rip McCain's fucking head off over this one, what WILL garner a forceful response? I'm starting to freak out a tiny bit...
Oh, and here's something else the Obama camp should be all over: the Cindy Pills scandal makes it to the Washington Post today:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/11/AR2008091103928.html?hpid=topnews&sid=ST2008091103947&s_pos
I love this story because it gets to McCain's honor, illustrates how there's a whole separate standard for white drug addicts, AND brings up the whole Keating 5 thing again.
Hey, Fraulein! Here's Planned Parenthood's response to McCain's shameful "sex ed" ad.
And so much for my theory that they wouldn't go after his age. Here are two new spots.
We'll see how this goes. I do like the '1982' ad but I'm getting increasingly worried they're not hitting back nearly hard enough. Why for the love of Jesus Hussein Christ, as Bob Cesca would say, couldn't the Obama campaign have done that excellent "sex ed" ad response?? Why did it have to be up to Planned Parenthood to do it? Will this ad even get aired on TV? I sure as hell hope so.
